Welcome to the Ottawa Chapter of DRIE (Disaster Recovery Information Exchange)
DRIE Ottawa was founded in September 1992, under the leadership of Brian Miller. In 2005 Brian passed the reins to Heather Tomalty and in 2008 Heather moved to B.C. and passed the reins to our current President, Frank Slater.
On May 26, 1994 DRIE Ottawa joined its fellow Canadian Chapters to form a national Disaster Recovery and Contingency Planning entity - DRIE Canada.

DRIE is a non-profit association of professionals dedicated to the exchange of information on all aspects of planning for an emergency or a disruption to normal operations. DRIE's goal is to provide an accessible, informal, open forum for the exchange of information and knowledge related to the many variations of emergency preparedness. We operate on total revenues of less than $30,000 per year.
DRIE Ottawa typically holds three quarterly, morning meetings, and one full day conference, annually. Our guest speakers present on any of the following topics:
- Disaster recovery planning;
- Business resumption planning;
- Contingency planning;
- Crisis management;
- Crisis communications;
- Emergency response; and
- Risk and business impact assessment.
